Comics: The Drawings of Humor!

Comics. They're in newspapers, books, magazines, ads, schools—they're practically taking over the world!

The world of comics

Meeeeeeeoooooow!
As you can tell, Clawmer's a cat.

Peanuts, Garfield, Foxtrot, Calvin and Hobbes, and Blondie are only a few of the many comic strips out there.

There are more than one million comic strips across the whole world! There are possibly billions of hilarious pictures and jokes.

Some comic strips are not funny, but are more like adventure stories. Examples are Spiderman, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Superman, Batman, and Prince Valiant.

But, in my opinion, humorous comics are the best, especially Garfield.

If you think you'd like to be a cartoonist, the first things you'll need are supplies. Start with the basics: a pencil and an eraser.

When you get real good at it, you'll use way more items then just those. Professional cartoonists use pencils, erasers, pens, rulers, and horizontal bars.

Another special supply cartoonists use is a Col-Erase pencil. Col-Erase pencils are erasable colored pencils. You won't find these pencils in a regular store. You have to go to special art shops or search online.
