So,
you think you're all groovy and happening, playing with your
little X Cubes and Game Squares? Well let me tell you something,
whippersnapper, things were a lot different back in MY day.
Sit up straight, wipe
that smirk off your kisser, and listen to your Great Granny Googolslippers.
When I was your age, we worked 23 hours a day. Thirty minutes
to sleep, 20 to eat, and 10 to play. We didn't have fancy schmancy
video games, no siree!
Our family was so poor,
even our word search games were lacking. We could only afford
to search a small section of a grid at a time. But by golly we
loved it! We were so happy to have any leisure time that we whistled
the whole game through.
Whistling
in the Dark
-- that's what we called it. Think you can handle a game or two?
I've got it here in my sewing bag -- give it a try you little
rapscallion, but don't play too long -- I've got a roast
in the oven and you've got chores to tend to!
