Question 1 DR. FRANKENSTEIN'S QUILT GROUP
Answer: C. Figure three stitches to every inch, or 36 stitches for every foot. If there are 5,280 feet in a mile, then there are 2,640 feet in a half-mile. 2,640 x 36 = 95,040.

Question 2 DRACULA'S DAUGHTER IN THE BIG APPLE
Answer: B. On the first day, Dracula's Daughter bites one person, and we now have two vampires. On the second day, two vampires bite two more victims, and we have four vampires. And so it goes, our number doubling every day2 to 4 to 8 to 16 to 32 to 64 to 128 to 256 to 512 to 1024 to 2048 to 4096 to 8192 to 16,384 to 32,768 to 65,536 to 131,072 to 262,144 to 524,288 to 1,048,576 to 2,097,152 to 4,194,304 to 8,338,608. When all is said and done, Drac's Daughter took 22 days to populate the Big Apple with bloodsuckers. If you're planning a trip to NYC, may I suggest going during the daylight hours?

Question 3 GRAVEDIGGER'S DILEMMA
Answer: C. This all depends on how you want to stack the caskets in each hearse. Height-wise you can only go three caskets high, so that's a given. The true test comes when deciding whether you're going to put them in the hearse head first or shoulder to shoulder.

If you lay them two caskets across (and three up in each column) you'll get a total of six caskets in the first row. Push that row to the back of the hearse, and add another group of six, and so on, until you are five caskets deep (5 x 42' = 210'; 210/12 = 17.5' still within our 18' depth parameter) Each hearse therefore can fit five rows of six caskets, or 30 caskets. Multiply that by three hearses, and you're hauling 90 caskets to the graveyard.

Yikes! It looks like someone's going to be digging graves well into the night

Question 4 DIAL 'M' FOR MATHEMATICS
Answer: A. Confused? Why make your life harder than it needs to be? Take a shortcut by using the clues in reverse order:

If you think 1 is a prime number, you need your head examined. Can I make you an appointment with Dr. Lizzie Borden?

Question 5 VAMPIRE SHOPPING SPREE
Answer: D. The 9-by-9 square base of the pyramid will have 81 cans of tomato juice. Moving upward, the next layer will have 8 x 8, or 64 cans. The next layer will have 7 x 7, or 49 cans, and so on up to the top layer (which only has one can). Add the cans in all 9 layers, for a total number of 285. Okay, so far so good, but we're not quite done yet. Remember, each can is 1.5 gallons of tomato juice, meaning we multiply 285 by 1.5 for a grand total of 427.5 gallons, and a vampire with one heck of a bellyache!

Question 6 WITCHES' BREW (HA-HA!)
Answer: C. 18 large bags multiplied by 11 eyeballs = 198 eyeballs. 7 small bags multiplied by 5 eyeballs = 35 eyeballs. 198+35 = 233 eyeballs.

Question 7 ZOMBIE WEDDING
Answer: A. Think about how the books would sit on a bookshelf if arranged in order. The first page of the first book faces inward, as does the last page of the last book. 8,000 pages exist between them.

Question 8 MUMMY KNOWS BEST
Answer: C. Just because the chances are 50/50 that every Mummy pregnancy results in a boy or a girl doesn't necessarily make this a 1 in 2 chance. There are, in fact, four possibilities for our Mummy children:
Older boy, younger girl
Older boy, younger boy
Older girl, younger girl
Older girl, younger boy
We already know that one mummy child is a girl, so we can eliminate option number two above. That leaves three other possibilities, only one of which has the other child also a girl. This makes for a 1 in 3 chance that the other Mummy is a girl.

Question 9 BILLIARDS WITH THE BLOB
Answer: A. There are actually two possible ways the pool balls could be divided up given the three facts presented, but either way results in you getting the 8-ball. Either possible solution results in that fact: (You - 3, 7, 8, 13, 14, Cue Ball; Blob All the rest) OR (You - 3, 8, 9, 11, 14, Cue Ball; Blob All the rest)

Question 10 I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY SQUASHED THE WHOLE THING
Answer: B. Downtown Tokyo had 27 buildings before those cut-ups on Monster Isle decided to crash their city. The best way to arrive at 27 is to work this problem backwards. Godzilla crushed his 1/4 of buildings two of them. This would mean there were 8 buildings standing when he arrived in town on Friday. On Thursday, Monster Zero trashed 1/3 of the buildings to arrive at 8. (Or 2/3x = 8; x = 12). On Wednesday, Mothra munched 1/3 of the buildings to arrive at 12. (Or 2/3x = 12; x = 18). On Tuesday, Rodan ruined 1/3 of the buildings to arrive at 18. (Or 2/3x = 18; x = 27).
