Every quarter has 119 grooves on its edge

Commemorative Quarter collecting is now in full swing, with 10 designs minted, and 40 more to come.

The U.S. Mint is busy preparing the next five quarters in their wildly popular program. This group is scheduled for release throughout 2001, and includes New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Kentucky.

Here's your chance to once again add to your Googolplex Quarter Keeper. Click on the quarter image at the bottom of this page and print out the next page that loads. Color and design your Keeper, then cut the dotted-line slots in each quarter-space. Use sharp scissors or an artist's knife, and be sure to get Mom and Dad's help. For durability, paste the page to a piece of thin cardboard. A sheet cut from a cereal box ought to do the trick.

Now comes the most exciting part--start collecting quarters! Look on the back of every quarter you get to see if you've matched one of the states on the Saver Sheet. Once you've got it, slide the quarter into the slot. Note that these slots are only made of paper, and can hide much of the cool designs on the back of each quarter, so you could tape each quarter to the page with clear tape instead.
