1. TENNIS, ANYONE?
Andre Agassi made more.
Anna Kournikova made $10 million in 2001. Not bad when you consider
she didn't win a single title all year. Andre Agassi won only
one title that same year, but like Anna, earned most of his money
in endorsements, bringing in an annual total of $18.5 million.
2. PRESIDENTIAL PAYCHECK
George Washington made more.
120 years after the President's first $25,000 salary, The Vice-President
still earned less than half of George Washington's paycheck.

4. BATTLE OF THE SEXES
Men make more.
Though we live in a liberated society, women still earn about
76 cents for every dollar earned by a man. Why such a gap? One
primary reason cited by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics: Women
on the whole are more likely to take short- and long-term leave
to raise children.
5. BEWARE THE RISE OF THE COMPUTER
NERD
Lawrence Ellison made more.
Oracle CEO Ellison earned a whopping $706 million in 2001.
Surprisingly, Mr. Ellison earned no salary and no bonus. His
entire compensation was gained from stock options exercised through
the year. Michael Dell came in a distant second on the list,
but don't weep for him. His salary was just over $200 million,
99% of which came from stock options.
6. SOME FRIENDS ARE BETTER THAN
OTHERS
Lisa Kudrow made more.
Kudrow nudged out Jennifer Aniston as the highest paid Friend
in 2001. Lisa's total take for the year was $26 million compared
to Jennifer's $24 million. Courtney Cox-Arquette also earned
a couple dozen million and tied with Aniston.
7. TALK AIN'T CHEAP
Bill Clinton made more.

Who says Republicans favor the rich?
8. FAMILY FEUD
The Olsen Twins made more.
It doesn't matter if you bite off bat heads for breakfast, no
family takes on the Olsen Twins. The adorable teenagers earned
$15 million in 2001, while the Osbournes brought in less than
$2 million.
9. DIRECTOR'S CUT
George Lucas made more.
It's a fact that science fiction sells. Just ask George Lucas,
who controls virtually all Star Wars film rights and merchandising.
His 2001 earnings were $200 million, making him the highest paid
entertainer of the year. Spielberg came in 3rd place with $100
million.
10. DEAD AND LOVING IT

Even though he died in 2000, Charles Schulz earned $28 million
in 2001. John Lennon made considerably less -- a mere $20 million
-- during that same year.
