AJ stands for Andrew Jackson, our 7th president. His reputation for toughness earned him the nickname "Old Hickory." A hero of the War of 1812, Jackson has appeared on the $20 bill since 1928.

Sometimes, we find music in the most interesting places. While it's not the same as plugging into your MP3, even the jingle of the right new coins in your pocket can be considered melodic.

New Pennies: copper rock & roll

The new pennies will arrive in 2009, just in time to celebrate the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth.

It's amazing to think that Lincoln would have been 200 years old in 2009. Plus, the year marks the 100th anniversary of the first Lincoln penny ever made.

Heads or tails, you'll rock with these shiny new pennies. Each one will have a special design on the "tails" side showing a different stage of Lincoln's life. Mix Up the Harmony

• Early years in Kentucky
• Growing up in Indiana
• Working in Illinois
• Serving as president

To give each of these pennies its time in the limelight, they'll be rolled out every three months.

For extra series "cent-ers," collectible versions will also be made with the same copper content as the first pennies made in 1909.

New dollar coins: oval office classical

Lincoln isn't the only president being honored with special coins. The presidential $1 coins that started arriving in 2007 stay on a roll in 2009, too.

In 2009, we'll see new dollar coins honoring presidents:

• William Henry Harrison, the first president to die while in office
• John Tyler, who loved to play the violin
• James K. Polk, who died of exhaustion not long after he left office
• Zachary Taylor, who served in the Mexican War and enjoyed horseback riding.

The new dollar coins are being introduced in the order the presidents served in the White House. For the responsible role these men held as president, their coins might be considered "classical" music.

What do they all have in common? (Other than all being men that held one of the most respected jobs in the US?)

All the presidential coins have a special lady's image on the back. It's none other than the Statue of Liberty. The last time Lady Liberty was thanked on a coin was in 1997, when she appeared on the back of the American Eagle platinum coins.

Even more presidential coins will continue to be released, four a year, until 2016...
