All you need to create your spending plan is pencil and paper. At the top the paper write "My Spending Goals." Draw three columns underneath.

Label Column 1 Short-term:

List those things you want that you think you'll have enough money to buy in the next one to three months. (For example, concert tickets, bowling party, etc.) Write down the cost of each item.

Label Column 2 Medium-term:

List those things you want that you think you'll have enough money to buy in the next three months to one year. (For example, MP3 player, bike, etc.) Write down the cost of each item.

Label Column 3 Long-term:

Some examples are: prom, class trip, etc.
