Transfer Videos Onto Your Phone or Portable Device
June 7th, 2012 at 4:33 pm

One thing that can be really frustrating is getting videos from your computer onto your phone, MP3 player, or tablet. It can at times be difficult to figure why a certain video that plays perfectly fine on your computer isn’t getting recognized by your phone.

The first thing you need to know is figure out what video formats your device accepts. To put it simply, there are many different video formats that end with certain extensions such as .mp4, .avi, .wmv, etc.

You need to figure out what your device supports. To do this either look in the manual or simply type something like “iPad supported video formats” into a search engine and you’ll find the answer in no time.

Once you find out what format you need the video in, check what format your video currently is in. If it’s already in the same format, then you’re good to go. If not, you’ll have to convert the file.

There are hundreds of free video converters online that you can use and download. The one I use is called Freemake Video Converter, but there are plenty of other good converters too.

Once you’ve converted the video, you simply just have to plug the device into your computer, and transfer the video. Now you can enjoy watching those videos wherever you go. Similarly, if your portable device only recognizes certain audio formats, you can follow the same procedure and convert your favorite songs into a format that your device can recognize.

Have you ever had problems transferring videos or music to your MP3 player or phone?
