What would happen if a crossword puzzle could tell a story? You'd get a game of WORDPLAY.
At the bottom of the page you'll see something that resembles a crossword puzzle grid, and above that, some other stuff that resemble crossword clues. Your job is to figure out the answer to each clue and fill in the appropriate blanks. Down below, those letters will be repeated in the crossword puzzle grid. The number(s) in your answer will match the number(s) in the grid.
When you're done, you'll have a story, albeit a very short one. Scroll down to the first puzzle and give it a whirl. We've purposely made it easy to give you a false sense of security.
Once you're confident in how WORDPLAY works, try out puzzle #2 - but be sure to put on your thinking cap first.
