Think March Madness only comes once a year? Take a second look at some college mascots, and you may think the insanity never stops.

Traditional mascots take the form of noble statesmen or majestic animals, but the University of California-Santa Cruz is proud to call a banana slug their school mascot.

Spirited students actually root for some of the 32 bizarre college mascots listed below. Half of these mascots are real. The other half we've made up. Click the pennants you think feature actual representatives of US colleges. Once selected, the pennant will turn red.
